Mark T. Harrington joined Mackenzie Hughes in 1991 and is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and Chair of the Business Department. His practice emphasis is financial institutions, including transactional matters as well as the day to day regulatory, lending, operational and governance issues of banks and credit unions. Additionally, Mark handles general business law matters including entity formation, purchase and sale of small and medium sized businesses, mergers and joint ventures and commercial lending. He assists the firm's immigration law practice group, counseling individuals and corporate clients who utilize investor and multinational visa categories as part of their business planning strategies. He is frequently asked to lecture on topics such as choice of business entity, limited liability company formation and new business ventures.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1982 from Ithaca College and a Juris Doctorate from Western New England College School of Law in 1989. Mark was admitted to the New York Bar in 1990 and the Massachusetts Bar in 1989.

Mark is a member of the Madison County, Onondaga County, New York State, Massachusetts and American (Litigation and Business Law Sections) Bar Associations. He is a member of the Arc of Onondaga Board of Directors, past president of the board, and a member of its Executive Committee. Mark is also a member of the NYSARC, Inc. legal committee, the New York state organization of all Arc chapters and a Trustee of Crouse Health Foundation. He was also named to A.M. Best's Directory of Recommended Insurance Attorneys and Adjusters.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys staying active in athletics by bicycling, running, downhill skiing and playing golf, with his wife and two children.
